Salary:  Band C (Point 8 – 14) £20,785.80 - £23,255.41 (actual salary) 

Permanent contract, term time only 

Full time 32.5 hours per week plus staff meetings (part time posts also considered)

The Governors, Headteacher and Chief Executive Officer are seeking to appoint a Child Specific Teaching Assistant to join our team at Central Schools Trust comprising of Balsall Common Primary School Academy and Damson Wood Nursery and Infant School Academy.  With regard to this appointment, the successful candidate will be part of the team at Balsall Common Primary School. 

Purpose of the role

To support the class teacher and other members of the teaching team to ensure that a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) is able to meet all the specified objectives detailed within the plan.  

Key Requirements

  • Has experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to be able to manage and organise time and resources effectively
  • Commitment to working within organisational procedures and processes in order to meet required standards for the role
  • Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to be flexible during the school day if there is a need
  • Work effectively as part of a team and make an active contribution
  • Ability to assess individual pupil’s learning and support their next steps in learning
  • Ability to create a stimulating, effective and challenging learning environment
  • Skilled in positive behaviour management
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities Effective interpersonal and communication skills
